Vote for Gladys (and me)!

Bernina USA is running a sewing room makeover contest over on their Facebook page. The winner gets a $2500 gift card to a Bernina Dealer and a $2500 gift card to Home Depot.  How awesome is that? Gladys entered me into the contest with the photo above and this little story:

I’m Gladys and I love sewing with my mommy, a crazy sewing blogger. She makes time to sew while caring for 4 kids, ages 1 mnth to 5 yrs. Sewing makes her so happy. Our space, 2 tables in the unfinished basement of a 1000 sqft 2 bdrm house needs help!

Like she said, my sewing space is pretty drab.  Just a couple of tables plopped down in the laundry/pantry area of our unfinished basement.  It really is not surprising that I often bring my sewing machine upstairs to work in our living room. But there is a lot of potential for our basement.  I have dreamt of finishing it up for a long time. Giving the kids a space to play, storage for their toys, and for myself, a more welcoming laundry area, sewing supply storage, a nice cutting table, and good lighting.

So, could you help me win my way to an awesome sewing space?

The top ten finalists for the Bernina contest are determined by popular vote. Then the winner is chosen from among the finalists by a panel of judges.  Voting begins today (May 19th) and continues through May 25th.

To vote click on THIS LINK.  It will ask for permission to install Bernina’s contest application. (see note below) Click on the Vote button underneath Gladys’ picture. You are allowed one vote per day.

If that link isn’t working for you, you can”like” the Bernina fan page and find the WIN A MAKEOVER application on the left hand side of the page (underneath the profile picture). Our entry is on the 21st page when sorted Newest to Oldest.

Questions you might ask:
Is Gladys sitting up already? umm.. no.  I am holding her under the dress and we are being tricky with the camera. She also can’t type yet to enter the contest.

Why do I have to install a Facebook app to vote? It is actually a requirement by Facebook for running contests on Facebook pages. You can read more about it on their Promotions Guidelines page.  I know a lot of people don’t like installing Facebook apps. I know I don’t. I am going to go out on a limb here and say, you can trust Bernina.  They are a reputable company and they are pretty social media savvy.  They won’t be naughty with this app, and you can remove it as soon as the contest ends.

Ugh. Are you going to post more of these “vote for me” things in the future? I subscribed to this blog read about sewing! No. That would be very lame of me. Please un-subscribe if I do.

Why should I vote for you really? What’s in it for me? Because you can bet I’ll be blogging about it, and you get have fun observing all the gory details of the basement makeover.  Andy might even help me make some videos.

And if you have any other questions, just ask in the comments.
