Remember how I said the Mommy Poppins Bag pattern can be modified to fit any size frame? Nerissa of NissaMade, a fellow bag-making enthusiast, volunteered to test out my resizing instructions. Because of a delayed hardware shipment, I had all but given up hope in getting the Mommy’s Poppins Bag pattern out Before Baby. The cornerstone of this project is the lovely 14 inch purse frame and I couldn’t get the pattern tested without hardware for my testers! And there is no WAY I would want to release an untested pattern. So frustrating, but….
MY SHIPMENT CAME YESTERDAY!!!!!
Which means I in search of a few testers! Interested in helping out?
In other news, I am also working out details with a fabulous highly-rated Etsy shop who is wants to supply Mommy’s Poppins Bag hardware kits - the purse frame, high quality d-rings and clasps all bundled together for your convenience. As an added bonus, you will get speedy domestic shipping instead of the frustratingly pokey international shipping I have been cursing this last month. Sew Exciting!
When I got asked to review Lisa Lam’s second bag making book, A Bag for All Reasons, I nearly peed my pants with excitement. I am the biggest fangirl of Lisa and credit her for my bag-making fearlessness. The first example being the gathered purse frame clutch I made way back in 2010.
It wouldn’t be a true ”book review” though without actually sewing up something from the book. (Like I really needed to give myself an excuse sew a bag.) So, despite my glaring lack of an iPad (wah!!), I picked her shnazzed-up “Geek Chic iPad Case“. I will be sending a friend a very happy package when I am done writing this post. Before I get into the project details, let’s talk about A Bag for All Reasons.
