Clothing the naked

January 19, 2010 by Jodi 2 Comments

My mother informed me that it wasn’t proper for my daughter’s dolls to be naked all the time. So one afternoon (inspired by this and  this rookie moms post), I sat with my daughter and sewed her dolly some clothes.  This would be an excellent first project for a young girl.  They could even be hand sewn instead of by machine.

CUTENESS- I was not criticizing your babies. They always get naked because little girls undress better than they dress dollies.

BTW you always had naked dollies also, but being a modest little girl you tended to ask me to dress them. How did I know a seamstress skill was going to develop!

Saw an ad on the TV at Beth’s. Ursuline College in Cleveland has a serious school of fashion design.

I’m glad you bothered me about it because it made for a really fun afternoon with my daughter. 🙂

Thank for encouraging your children in their creativity.
