skirt distraction

February 24, 2010 by Jodi 3 Comments

I hate zippers.  I really hate zippers and I am really stressed that this skirt will look terrible on me.  So, I am avoiding doing it.  Also, my nap time sewing has been greatly disturbed and my evenings haven’t yielded much sewing time. But enough excuses,  I will finish it up by the end of the week.

I am having trouble sleeping, but instead of finishing up the skirt. I am researching next months sewing project. ridiculous, I know.

Is spring here yet?  I am hoping to make some more skirts for this  summer.  Something more casual, but will add a more femininity to my typical pair-o-jeans uniform.  What if I take the straight skirt pattern and make it in the khaki that is all the rage this spring.  What if I added cute pockets?  I’m totally jealous of Gianna’s pockets. 🙂

Then, there is the ankle length brown tiered skirt that I wore all last summer. This one in a light floral perhaps?  With an elastic waistband to make it ridiculously easy. I would just need to add some extra length.  Or this one which provides a bunch of different looks.

hmmm… is midnight to late for sewing the zipper?

apparently it isn’t. It didn’t turn out perfect, but it is passable. and the side seams are done. On the lining tomorrow. How does only deal with a back vent and lining?

    Jodi,
You are so creative! I love all of your sewing projects! I am so impressed that you are making clothing! Can’t wait to see your skirt, when you finish. I’m saving your blog in my favorites. Keep up the good work,
    Katy

Thanks, Katy. I am making clothing to stretch myself as a sewist. The skirt is almost finished, I just need to hem it. Hopefully Andy can help me with the pinning tonight and it will be done for church on Sunday. 🙂
