My mom is doing a major purging of her house. She is digging through the attic and breaking open all the tucked away boxes. I am the third child out of six. So there are A LOT of random things stored at her house.
She found some of my old toys and brought them down with her when she visited this past weekend. Here are some of my favorites…
This is a set of Barbie furniture made from plastic canvas. I followed the instructions found in a book. I can’t find it online anywhere, but this lady seems to have a copy of it. 🙂
I remember this project taking a looooong loooong time, but I was so proud of each piece that I made.
I dreamed of making an entire house out of the plastic canvas and would longingly pour over the other instruction books at the store. (maybe Meijer?)
It is a delight to see my kids play with it now. Although, they don’t understand how fun it is. That it was something I made when I was young. In their young minds, it is perfectly reasonable that mom could and would sew doll furniture. Mom can sew anything, right? 🙂
It was this bundle that I was the most excited to see. It is definitely from even earlier. Can you guess what is inside?
Why, the Peters Family, of course!
Meet Joe, …
Each in their own little pocket.
And everyone had a pocket for their clothes too! My complete obsession with organization seems to have come from an early age.
Thanks, Mom, for caring for these treasures and returning them safely to me.
how special! i LOVE this post! thanks for sharing:)
I made the furniture probably in 6th grade, and my mom thinks I was 6 when I made the dolls. She thinks I made the wrap later.
That’s so cool 🙂 What a fun re-discovery! Thanks for sharing your early talent 🙂
Holy plastic canvas, you made all of that gorgeous little furniture? The Peters are so sweet, thanks for sharing some of your early works with us!
What a wonderful treasure to recover! That plastic canvas furniture is just amazing. I love the curvature at the top of the headboard and the little scalloped bed skirt!
I know what the name of the Furniture pattern is. It’s called Hearts in Heaven by Kooler Desgin Studio. You did an amazing job on it.
Thank you!!!! I’m so excited to know the book name!
