A Butterfly Birthday: Tissue Paper Butterflies

October 11, 2010 by Jodi 6 Comments

Yesterday was my daughter Gianna’s third birthday.  She had been looking forward to this birthday for months – telling everyone she meets how old she will be turning, choosing what type of cake she wanted, who she would invite, etc.  Unfortunately, Gianna came down with a horrible cold last Thursday and we had to cancel her little soirée.  The five of us celebrated anyways and had a lovely butterfly filled day.

When our birthday princess woke up in the morning, she was greeted by a flock of butterflies.

Made of tissue paper and pipe cleaner, the butterflies were strung by string to our living room ceiling fan.

They must have mistaken the tissue wrapped presents for flowers, because a few landed on them as well.

I hope you had a wonderful day, dear daughter.

More butterflies to come…

Great idea 🙂 She looked happy, in an out-of-focus sort of way!

She was. 🙂 Although a little groggy from being sick though, so the out-of-focus-ness was totally appropriate. 🙂

    Jodi,
These are great! How ingenious. A butterfly extravaganza would make any little girl flutter with joy! Gianna is one lucky girl.
