The Cupcake Princess

October 26, 2010 by Jodi 3 Comments

I spent all summer planning this project, but I could never get myself to start it.  I had it envisioned so clearly in my head I was afraid it wouldn’t turn out.  Of course, it isn’t as perfect as I have dreamed, but I am proud to say I came up with the idea and the design myself. (I do think I was heavily influenced by this childhood toy though.)  I am glad my daughter’s birthday gave me a deadline to finish it.

It is a combination of my daughter’s two favorite things.  A cupcake…

… and a Princess.

Made all the more fun by hiding one in the other.

Wow! Jodi, that is fantastic!! I’m failing to see the “less than perfect” part 🙂 What a great design and execution… you’re positively magical! I get the impression she loved it 🙂

I guess it is more “not quite what I visioned” but I am happy with it. 🙂

Sew Fearless is about a reckless pursuit of the sewing craft. It is about not letting your fears talk you out of your dreams. It is a place to go for encouragement, information, and sewing camaraderie. It’s a place where “done” is better than “perfect”, and where saying “I didn’t try” is worse than “I failed”. Read More…
