I took this photo last Monday – the day my husband returned to work. I think it sums up pretty well how my life has gone this last week. Mountains of laundry, a super grumpy sick toddler, nursing and diaper changes, exhaustion, toy chaos all over, but with sun pouring in the windows. I am so happy that spring seems to have finally arrived!
An internal purse frame that I ordered while still pregnant finally arrived in the mail and I am daydreaming about sewing again. Friday morning, I snuck out of the house and did a little fabric retail therapy. Some lovely yellow home dec fabric, grey corduroy, and quilting cotton made its way home with me. My hope is that they will become a “carpet style” diaper bag. You can see the inspiration I have collected over on my Bags Pinterest board. I want it to be cheerfully bright without looking like a beach bag and more sophisticated than a typical diaper bag. We will see if I can achieve that.
What about you? Have you been dreaming up any projects lately?
I love your fabric choices. I don’t have a new baby and we’re all healthy and my house still looks like that!
I think the mess bothers me because I am stuck in it and can’t seem to get out of the house…. 🙂
I use to be a La Leche League Leader & tell new moms just that ~ after a new baby you’ll have a ‘new normal’. ;-))
Oh I know it only too well!
Sick toddler looks cute even tough he’s sick 😀
I really like your bag idea!
Still wondering if I should visit?
Today, in church, I saw a very darling fleece ”
church coat for a very chubby one year old. It was brown with aqua swirls, and it had a matching squashy hat with a fleece bow on it. Really cute.
I am a ways before setting up the sewing machine. This week, planting rutabaga and beets and radishes and tilling and burying dog wire, and oh yes, cleaning for easter. Easter monday do you want me?
mitzel baby was carefully held by aunt ann mitzel going up to communion. Karen?Chocklay looks great.
Spring is always a busy time on a farm. I’m glad you finally have yours. 🙂 Sew when it’s too hot to garden or when there is snow on the ground. Which I guess means, today! 🙂
I look forward to your next visit, whenever it is.
And I’m glad Karen is doing well. 🙂
I have just been dreaming about finishing my daughter’s Easter dress, which I finally did this weekend. Truly though I have all the fabric, lace, trim, cording, everything for 2 adorable Martha Pullen day gowns for baby #2 coming in June that I am dying to get to. Soon hopefully. Can’t wait to see your bag.
Just realized I have a mother’s helper coming over this afternoon. Maybe I’ll start cutting out the bag? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hey, I had that same boppy cover! LOL The sketch of your bag looks fab. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Yes, homes are SUPPOSED to look like that after a new baby arrives! So you are right on track! 😉
And I am always dreaming up new projects, but don’t have nearly enough time to get it all done. I would be happy if I could finish my aprons from a year ago! But I’d also love to sew up some simple maternity-related things soon-ish. SOON!
Have to say that I adore the fabrics you picked out…grey + yellow is a fav color combo with me, and the patterns on ’em are sweet. Can’t wait to see what you cook up with this nifty bag!
