Fabric Buying Buzz! Wee!

July 5, 2011 by Jodi 8 Comments

If you follow me on twitter, you know that I went on buckled down and picked out the remaining fabric for my sons “Roads” Quilt. (Previously posted here and here.)  The gray will be the “road” and binding, the solid orange is the backing, and I bought some fat quarters to round out the rest of the quilt.

I used to not be a fan of orange, but my husband LOVES it.  He has a soft spot for funky orange furniture, and painted his office walls orange, and I think it is subliminally affecting me. Holland Cox’s How To Wear Orange posts weren’t exactly helping either.

I’m keep getting giddy with excitement when looking at this pile of deliciousness.  I can’t wait to break into it, but I think I will have to wait until I make headway on my July pattern project. I will let myself pre-wash and iron it this week though. hehe. “let myself iron”.  What is wrong with me?

EDIT – I can’t believe I forgot to include these sites for more orange-spiration, but you have GOT to check out No Big Dill’s Never Enough Orange series, and, of course, How About Orange. I blame placenta-brain for not including them earlier.

Update: This project is now finished!

Hooray for Orange!!! I can’t wait to see the quilt, it sounds amazing. And FYI I totally have that same fat quarter on the left, with the swirlies and the green dots. 🙂 Thanks for the link to my ‘how to wear orange’ series, too!
