Phew. Thank you for understanding this bloggy-break. Moving is NUTS! We tossed most of our belongings on a truck last Saturday and officially started the next phase of our lives residing at “Chez Bonjour”. I’ve been in a surreal exhausted haze since then.
I realized yesterday that I should prioritize setting up my sewing machine or else I would never get back into sewing… ever. There is so very much work to be done around here. It will take years and there is no way that I am going to wait that long to do what brings me joy and pleasure. My goal now is to have “Tabby” up and running by next week! The room won’t be “done”, but I will be sewing and that is what is important, right?
Also, I miss you folks! So here is a little v-log hello and a peak into what will eventually be (sooner rather than later) my sewing room.
What have you been up to this couple of weeks? Please, indulge my sewing cravings by telling me about your sewing projects. I want to live vicariously through you!
Hi glad to hear that at least everything is in the house. Oh the joy of unpacking! Hopefully it will go quickly and you can get to sewing. I have been working on a purse for my sister, it is the perfect fall color purse.
Take care and don’t over do it.
Congrats on your sewing room, how exciting to be able to make it exactly how you want it to be from scratch! I am sewing (slowly) a 9-patch, a Jacob’s Ladder and also have just started a triangle quilt – I like to have lots on the go at once!! That’s just the sewing side of things 😉
All the best x
So happy that you will have your own room…it is truly a joy believe me
I’ve been work on making my grandson some more cute but boyish diapers while trying to esign and start what I will be calling a knitting bag for a friend of mine…also need to get a 98″x112″ quilt sandwiched and ready for quilting …as you can see I’ve been a busy …but a good kind of busy…hope you get the machine out and ready to go….your going to need those maternity pants soon!!! LOL!!
I’ve just been through this so I know exactly how you’re feeling! 🙂 I had to wait until we got the new carpet in before I could set up and it felt like it took aaages but I am finally all go and it feels good xx I’ve just finished a skirt and starting a couple of quick projects for Hubby next before I begin this years “birthday dress”
Love it. A little sad you are painting over that awesome purple, but you’re right. It might slant other colors too much. The chalkboard wall is awesome. The whole room is awesome- SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! Happy Sewing room at last! and happy new house. Also, for the record, I love the new blog look. It is so happy and fabulous- just like you!!!
This is so COOL – you’re going to absolutely love it – even the setting-up part, ’cause you get to decided where and how to put things instead of cramming them somewhere because there’s no room. And it’s got so much character – I look forward to seeing it in action. 🙂
Plus you’ve got the greatest desk – would love to find one with sweet legs like that!
Have fun!
I’m thinking of painting that desk some funky color. 🙂
I’ve cut out 7 pairs of pants in various sizes for the boys, and one goldenrod medieval dress for Elaina to wear next weekend to Medieval Fest. (By the way, we hope to see you there!) My long-term project is a blue and yellow quilt for Patrick with WWII airplanes and modern sailboats in an Irish chain pattern.
Don’t worry about the piles of stuff. They shrink if you spray them with hot water. At least, that’s what I’ve heard…
I hope to see you there!!! (and I’ll try the hot water)
