Fun story…I wore this Santa Fe Top with some flares and gladiator sandals to the grocery store a couple of months ago and this dude comes up to me and says “You look like you stepped out of my favorite era – the 60s”. Cue my face turning lobster red, because I haven’t had my appearance commented on by a random man in… I don’t know… 3 kids ago? “That’s a compliment.” Okay dude. You look like you really enjoyed the 60s. So… thanks?
I didn’t need a compliment to love this shirt. It was love as soon as I snipped the last thread. The drape! The slouchy! The ridiculous amount of comfort created by super happy smearings of my favorite colors.
Disclosure: Adrianna sent me a no-obligation review copy of the Santa Fe Top pattern. All opinions are my own.
It was worth a second try in lace.
The lace didn’t drape as nicely, but whatevs. It is also sublimely comfortable. The neckline is flattering, and the sleeves are just right.
I’ve been digging the slouchy shapeless-wear recently so I made one more.
I seem to be putting more and more weight around my mid-section.
It might have to do with my recent obsession with pickles, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ice cream.
Santa Fe Tops
- Fabrics: Rayon-Spandex Jersey from Jo-Ann Fabrics, Cotton-Spandex Lace from Jo-Ann Fabrics, Telio Venice Stretch ITY from Fabric.com
- Pattern: Santa Fe Top by Hey June Handmade
- Measurements: Height – 5’10”, Bust – 41 inches, Waist – quickly expanding, Hips – 50.5 inches
- Size / Adjustments: I used View C (without the Center seams) in a size 1X with 1 1/2 inches in length. I measure as a XL in my bust/shoulders and 5 inches more than a 2X in my hips, but this is a very roomy pattern. I would recommend measuring out the pattern pieces and compare to shirts that you already have to choose the correct sizing.
Yup, I can’t hide it anymore. Lucky Number 7 will be making his or her appearance March 2017.
So cute!!! Congrats, Jodi – yay for lucky number 7! You look great! 🙂
Ha, congrats! How exciting! And those look super cute on you.
All 3 tops are amazing and you look darn cute in all the photos. It looks like the perfect slouchy top. I’ll definitely need that for next spring! Congrats again my friend. You are amazing!
Yippee! Congrats on #7
Congratulations!
Your tops look great and congratulations on your new little 2017 one.
Congratulations! I love your braid, and all of the tops. It surprises me to no end, but I think my favorite might be the black lace–I’m usually go in for all.the.colors.
The top is very nice and so appropriate for No 7. Really tired of seeing all of the figure hugging tees being worn for maternity tops these days. Thumbs up.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! OMG Congrats!!!!!!!! Sure not pancakes and pickles? Super happy for you 🙂 Oh, and the tops are lovely!
So awesome! congrats!! XO
Congratulations!! And love these tops- your fabric choice is fabulous!!
How wonderful!!! Congratulations! And I LOVE all three tops – they look wonderful on you!
Congratulations! The black lace is my favorite, and is tempting me to make one myself.
Jodi, I can’t get enough of this shirt! So adorable, so flattering, great colors and fabrics. And I cried just now (again) at your announcement. Bringing love into the world, one Bonjour at a time.
Oh, those hormones. haha! 🙂
That’s a very pretty top. I like the sleeve cuffs, and it does look a little like the tie dyed t-shirts of the 60’s. I also like the lace top. It’s very elegant.
