Are you a list making person? I am. There is something reassuring about writing all the thoughts floating around in my head on paper. Suddenly, the impossible seems doable when it is written in list form. I also am a lover of calendars, and I look forward to the new year when I get to copy over all the important dates on clean crisp new pages. So, when I was looking for a use for my test quilt block, I thought it would be fun to wrap up my paper happiness with some fabric happiness.
The resulting planner cover holds a spiral bound half-sized weekly planner, with a pocket for random bits of paper. There are always random bits of paper.
In the back, there is another large vertical pocket, a pocket for a grocery list/brainstorming/doodling notepad, and a wide elastic loop to hold a pen. It is all held together with a magnetic snap.
Now, I’m off to write me some Prepare-For-Baby lists. 🙂
Lovely!! What a perfect use for that beautiful test square. I love the pockets!!
Pockets are probably my Second Favorite Thing Ever (right behind lists). 🙂
Lovely! I know just the friend to gift one of these (her birthday is coming up and she’s a fan of paper).
LOVE IT! I kinda think I need one. =)
Hi,
I was looking for a fabric planner cover pattern on the internet and came across the one you made using your test quilt block. I fell in love with it and would like to know if you had a pattern for it that you would like to share?
Unfortunately, Barb, I don’t have one. It was a fly by the seat of your pants project, and the dimensions would change depending on the size of the planner. I’ll keep it in mind for future sewing patterns though.
