Fringed Tree Skirt

December 22, 2011 by Jodi 4 Comments

A little birdie told me that my sister-in-law was in desperate want of a tree skirt. Of course, a store-bought skirt wouldn’t do.

Especially when I only needed to cut a giant circle out of felt and slap some fringe on it. Or you know, sew it down carefully.

The burgundy color felt and creamy fringe gives it a classier vibe than classic bright red and white would.

I must admit. My plain-jane red, pilling, felt tree skirt is feeling a bit jealous.

Not that it matters. No one’s lookin’ at my tree skirt anyway.

I made my own tree skirt this year, too! I bought a pattern on the cheap and made a blue skirt because i did a blue tree this year. It was fun and it’s basically how I learned to sew.

So pretty 🙂 I’ve been thinking about a new one for years now– mine is an old felt one that is getting pilled up from overwashing… I’m thinking fleece for my next one, or maybe some of that shiny material 🙂 What I’m trying to say is that, as usual, you inspire me 🙂
