A Mug Rug for Carson

June 25, 2012 by Jodi Leave a Comment

There has been a lot of home decorating give-and-take in our efforts to spruce up our living room. Andy let me replace his beloved brown curtains with sunny yellow ones, and recently, he brought home this treasure.

What I want to know is how did this gem end up in the clearance section of our grocery store? And I can’t imagine why these dudes haven’t been popping up all over the hot home decor blogs. What a statement piece!!

…. Or, you know, not.

Trends be darned. We are living the good life now, with Mr. Carson always there for us when we need him – to hold a cup of coffee, an iPhone, or a bottle.

This hardworking chap has proved himself in need of a little handmade pampering. Pampering in the form of a mug rug for his tray, made with some of my beloved Flea Market Fancy, and hand quilted with embroidery floss. The random quilting design fit my mood at the time.

Welcome to our humble home, Carson.

I’m so glad you aren’t a dog.

Sew Fearless is about a reckless pursuit of the sewing craft. It is about not letting your fears talk you out of your dreams. It is a place to go for encouragement, information, and sewing camaraderie. It’s a place where “done” is better than “perfect”, and where saying “I didn’t try” is worse than “I failed”. Read More…
