We are moving. Not far. Still in town, but our cute old house has been bursting at the seams with toddler energy and small business schemes. It was time. The week we found out I was expecting, we started looking around at houses and surprised ourselves by finding one right away. It’s been a long drawn out process of paper pushing and phone calls, and I didn’t want to spill the beans until it was official. Which it is… at least it will be once the deed is at the courthouse this afternoon.
What a relief it is to be moving into a home with room to stretch out, a home with space enough to let us be hospitable and generous. But, oh, the bitter-sweetness of leaving the home I brought home four babies to, the home that we spent all but several months of our married life together in.
The wild part of this news though… (and I can’t believe I am even typing this)….
I have a sewing room to myself.
(my sewing room)
… I don’t even have words…
It’s an embarrassment of riches.
That’s the good news. The sad news is that I am going to have to scale back on blogging over the next few weeks. I’ve decided to relieve myself of a commitment to regular posting as we are packing and cleaning and painting and settling. Not forever, just until I have my machine set up again. I will still be popping in on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram because I couldn’t NOT chat with all of you dear people.
Goodbye, little house.
Jodi – I’m SEW happy for you! May you find as much joy in your craft room as I have in mine! How exciting that you and your cuties have found a new home to fill with fun and energy – and maybe a new young couple will love your house as much as you do. Congrats and Much love!
Jodi that is great news you must be so excited. Hopefully the packing and moving will go smoothly, and of course the filling up of your new sewing room. Oh the fun of it all.
A sewing room is so exciting! It is always sad to leave a place so full of memories, but your new home will be filled with them soon enough. Hope the moving goes smoothly and quickly. =)
Gosh… I almost just cried reading this out of happiness for you. Really! If anyone in this world should have a little piece of space with a door to close occasionally and a window to open and light up a project, it is you! I am so so so happy that this is really happening! I can’t wait to get a vlog tour of the new sewing room when you are settled in! Oh the joy!! Oh the potential!
Jodi that is wonderful news…growing families need bigger homes…..and this will be your home in no time…great news about the sewing room….you will be in seventh heaven….just the fact that you can shut the door and leave everything right where it is……not having to clean up every time you have to stop…it’s one of the best feelings……just make sure you put a child proof door handle on the door..
So very very happy for you and your family….moving is hard especially w/small children plus being pregnant…but enjoy……all moves are usually bitter sweet……..but this is a happy one!!!
Can’t wait to see the Jodi sewing room all set up and ready to go!

Best of luck in this new place. I love my own small sewing room. No more moving machine to eat supper. Prayers
I am SO excited for you!! I can’t wait until you’re all unpacked and can relax. Moving when pregnant is tough =( I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with the last one the last time we moved. I was so glad to hear about friends helping you!!
