Newborn Snuggles

This is just a quick message to say…

  • I’m still here! We are exhausted and trying to rediscover our footing. Andy went back to work last week, and my mom went home last Friday. That means this week is the real deal. Wish me luck. Or better yet, send me wine and chocolate. hehe.
[This reminds me of a similar blog post from 2011: Find the New Normal. If only I had the spring weather to bolster my spirits this time around. soon, Jodi, soon.]
  • I’m still totally flabbergasted that I am a mom of five. Woah. It does not seem real. I guess it is a good thing I pushed out Vinny “au naturale”  or else I would’ve had even more trouble believing he was mine.
  • Nursing has been sucky. (very punny, but not funny) And I have been spending waaaaaaayyyyy too much time on my computer distracting myself from its suckiness. It has got to change.
  • I had the realization that hand sewing should be totally doable during nursing, at least until Vinny starts grabbing things. (And it will be much more satisfying the browsing the interwebs.) Lucky for me, I made myself a whole round-up of hand sewing project ideas last summer to keep me busy.

I’ve already tried a bit of embroidery last week. Next up? English paper piecing!
or maybe a nap… a nap would be nice.

Your stitching looks beautiful! I have thought about doing white on white but have not tried it yet.

I feel your pain…or sleeplessness. About a week before you became a mother of 5, I too became a mother of 5…not sure how that is even possible. This transition has certainly been trickier than the others, due mostly to The Boy. But I think we are starting to get the hang of things…sorta.

Sew Fearless is about a reckless pursuit of the sewing craft. It is about not letting your fears talk you out of your dreams. It is a place to go for encouragement, information, and sewing camaraderie. It’s a place where “done” is better than “perfect”, and where saying “I didn’t try” is worse than “I failed”. Read More…
