I hate writing this kind of post. You know the one, the “Sorry! I am not keeping my promise about posting a new pattern” post. But here it is. I have recently arrived home from a long visit at my parents house. The kids had a great time helping care for animals, tramping around in galoshes, going on “hayrides”, reading with uncles, and not doing a whole lot of sleeping. Gladys spent the week smiling and cooing her way into the hearts of everyone she met… then spitting up all over them. She’s a keeper.
For me, it was a wonderful opportunity to visit with old friends and new. I made some major headway on cutting out Duncan’s quilt at a crafty night with the talented Karen of The June Bride and friends, and then at a sewing workshop at The Blue House with Karen of Patterns by Figgy’s and Rae of Made By Rae. (Look at me getting all name drop-y.) Also, I’ve started my Stitch Sampler for the We Love French Knot’s contest.
It was a good trip, but lonely, as it was done without my husband. He was busy with his graduate school “residency” for earning his MFA. Now that we are all together again, we are working on settling back into our daily routines and I hope to get that much promised tutorial out to you soonish.
Where have you gone on your summer adventures? Did you get to include sewing in them?
Sounds like a productive vacation! Sounds like a bit of fun too!
Andrea, you of all people should know better than to call it a “vacation”. It prefer to call traveling with small children an “adventure”. Or a “trip” http://www.faithandfamilylive.com/magazine/are_we_there_yet/
I was so glad to get to see you and Gladys!! As a blogger struggling to update our family blog properly after 3 months of basically nothing… well, I understand the tutorial delay. Can’t wait to see it though 🙂 You’re so talented!!
Thanks for understanding. 🙂
I love the pics. The crop and hue remind me of my baby pics from the ’80s. I don’t know if the retro feel was intentional, but I love it!
Great to see you, by the way. And yes, Gladys is spectacular!
Oh, it was very intentional. 🙂 I used a preset in picnik.com to make them. They were taken with my mom’s iPhone (the only camera I had access to) and I had to make up for the lack of quality.
It was so great to see you. You should email me so we can be all chatty online. 🙂
