I’m not big on party planning, but I love decorating birthday cakes. Especially when someone else has done the hard work of figuring out the “how” and I can just follow directions. Matthias and I found cake directions for a Dragon birthday cake on Family Fun.
The fruit leather wings were a FAIL, but the birthday boy didn’t mind. I must also mention the WORLD’S YUMMIEST FROSTING recipe. Once you go Swiss Meringue, you never go back.
Daddy earned some extra Awesome Points by throwing together a “Dragon Sub”.
The rest of the week has been spent puttering around our yard, swimming in our tiny pool and finishing off the planting. Have I mentioned how much I detest dirt? blech. blech. nasty. ugh. The kids are having a blast though, so that keeps me going.

and we are also celebrating this other thing…
seven years
Maybe by the time we get to 10 years, I will have made us a real wedding album.

Ooh, Beadboy2 loves dragons. Was it hard to cut the second cake into the tail pieces?
Not really! I just followed the rough outline provided on the tutorial.
