Watch out, world. Vincent is on the move!
Like seriously, the kid doesn’t slow down for a second. Last night, Andy heard him crying in his crib to discover him STANDING UP hanging on to the side. Say what?! Didn’t I push him out yesterday?
Such an active boy is in great need of some shoes to help him along and these soft-soled shoes are just the ticketAfter much Facebook-consultation….
and internetting, I came up with the Slip On Baby Shoe Pattern by Twirly Bird Patterns on Etsy.
It is a beautiful pattern, straight forward construction, and in the exact style I wanted. The only fiddly part was working with the teeny seam allowances, but small baby things are always like that. I did change up the pattern and used leather (using the same tips I talked about in my last leather post) for the soles instead of suede.
Go, Vinny, Go!

Also, a quick PSA on a totally unrelated topic…
My dear friend Karen (who I wuv so very much!! XXXOOOOO) has just posted a lovely new tutorial for making these GOR.GEOUS. silk and velvet pumpkins. I don’t know how she comes up with this stuff. I never knew how much my life was lacking in fabric pumpkins up until this moment, but I want them. So badly. Why am I telling you? Well… when I told her how much I loved it, she gave me this coupon code to share with you, dear readers! Use “SEWFEARLESS” for 25% off of your total digitally delivered goods purchase in her Etsy Shop or on TheJuneBride.com. (Good through the end of October 2013) Now if you don’t mind me, I have some pumpkin stems to find…
Oh my goodness! How can I read your blog when I’m so distracted by that cute little Vinny! But guess I’ll try to make a couple pair of these for our newest grandson.
What a face! He is one handsome young man!
