Slow Progress

July 30, 2014 by Jodi 7 Comments

embroidered pendant

Sheesh! That was a depressing post to leave hanging out on my blog. I thought I should bump it down with a little update to say Thank You So MUCH for all of your prayers and words of encouragement. I am slowly improving.

outside healing

I am healing well from surgery and only need pain meds on occasion, which means I have my brain back! And I am able to do things like read and embroider and hold conversations that I actually remember later.

fancy

I am still off my foot for another month, and then I slowly transition back to full-weight bearing. I started PT this week which was harder than I imagined it would be, but I keep bumping into people who have worked through this type of injury (a tibial plateau fracture), and I am encouraged that this is just a season and someday, I will be well again.

Meanwhile, in the vast expanse of time I have on my hands now, I’ve been embroidering again. I forgotten how relaxing it is!

I’m so glad you are a bit better! I love the embroidery you are doing… I feel the same way every time I start to do it. It’s perfectly relaxing! (Until I stab myself and the thread knots up… not so fun then)

I forget how therapeutic crochet can be for me until I sit down and pick up my hook again. I can imagine that hand embroidery would be similar. Your mind can just go and you concentrate on the stitches.

    Your work is gorgeous, Jodi!
