I’m finding myself being pulled away from my sewing room quite a bit these days. While I am feeling the emotional drive to do All The Projects, my body needs me to slow down and rest between these spurts of activity. I am also finding myself occupied more and more with “nesting” projects. Sadly, this leaves some really fun self-care sewing projects gathering dust, but I really do hope I can get back to them soon. I’m taking my projects one week at a time.
I am happy to share this little nesting project with you. It is greatly inspired by The Nester’s article about the need for textures in home decorating. This knit pillow cover was just the thing to sit next to my embroidered pillow in our living room. It’s amazing how much its texture adds. Of course once the couch had two pillows, it was begging for a third to round out the vignette, and the yellow pillow emerged from the remaining scraps from my sewing room curtains. Again, it added another layer of texture and I couldn’t be happier. [Need a simple pillow cover tutorial? Check out this easy one from Craftiness Is Not Optional.]
What do you think about textures in home decorating? Have you been using them in your home?
They are all beautiful! I love the embroidery paired with that nubby knit! love!
These are really pretty together! I love the textures, but my favorite is still the embroidered one.
