I picked up McCalls 3830 today at Joann’s in preparation for February’s Project-12 project. I am hoping to make myself a “pencil skirt” that hits me at my knee. I am awaiting the arrival of “Fit for Real People” in the mail before I begin. Also, I haven’t decided on what fabric to use. Wool seems a bit ambitious. Maybe a suiting? It is such a basic skirt, the possibilities are endless. And once I have the pattern fit the way I want it, sewing up more skirts won’t be difficult.
The only thing that isn’t as straight forward is that the pattern doesn’t include directions for a lining and I would like to make one. I did find this article though, but I’m not sure yet what to do about the back vent if I do the “slip” method.
