The problem with asking my husband to take a picture of a shirt I made is that he is more likely to take pictures of the pretty girl wearing it than the shirt itself. Or rather, it’s not a problem, because I wouldn’t ever want my children’s clothing to distract from the child herself.
The shirt is Imagine Gnats’ “Tumble Tee” pattern. I offered to pattern test for Rachael and my sewing machine ATE the hem of the first version, and it ended up in the repair shop. So, this is the second go around.
Rachael is very helpful in her instructions and tips on about how to finish the pattern with a standard sewing machine. So, no need to fear the knits! This neato double-sided jersey (from Jo-Ann’s) needed some cleaner finishing. Therefore, I opted to overlock all the edges with my serger and tuck those finished edges under before stitching the hems into place.
I was very happy with how quickly the project came together and it’s good to have a couple of nice sewing “wins” under my belt as I am psyching myself up for some selfish sewing. Postpartum personal sewing is not for the faint of heart.

Thanks for letting me play with your pattern, Rachael!
it looks great!!! although she’s much cuter than the shirt 😉
it would be hard to make a shirt cuter than her. 🙂
